Everto Guerrero Nuñez, raised in the community of La Jalca, has been around coffee production his entire life. He is now 53 years old and producing coffee at his family’s farm El Palo Santo. Everto’s goals include increasing production and to participate in quality competitions nationally and internationally. Coffee is grown under the shade of eucalyptus and guava trees, then processed on the same day cherry is harvested. Coffee cherry is depulpled on-site then fermented for up to 22 hours revealing clean parchment coffee. It is then dried on raised beds under parabolic cover for 12 days.

With high elevations, diverse microclimates, high-quality soil, and varieties of Caturra, Bourbon, and Catimor, coffees from Rio Blanco offer notes of candied apple and tart cherry, deep honeyed sweetness, and florals.
